How our rental insurance guides are prepared.
Our standards for sources, examples, updates and the distinction between general education and policy-specific advice.
Start with a real owner question.
Each guide focuses on a distinct rental arrangement, building type or coverage decision. Practical examples, document checklists and comparisons help readers identify facts to discuss with an insurance professional.
Sources and limits.
We favor regulators, government agencies, policy documents and other primary sources for consequential claims. Sources are listed with each guide. Carrier and platform examples describe their own materials and may not apply to another policy or transaction. Information can change after an article is prepared.
Authorship and preparation.
Guides are published under Michael Cordogan’s byline. Digital research and drafting tools may assist content preparation. The byline is not a claim that every example is a firsthand client experience or that a carrier has approved the article. Scenarios are illustrative unless expressly identified otherwise.
Dates that mean something.
Before publication, each guide identifies when its content was prepared. After publication, it shows its actual publication date or a later substantive update date. A new upload or a copyright change alone does not justify a fresh article date.
Insurance and legal distinctions.
Educational explanations cannot establish coverage, availability, lender acceptance or legal compliance. Actual policy terms and insurer decisions control. State rules and contracts vary. Consult the appropriate professional for your specific insurance, legal or tax questions.
Corrections.
If you notice an error or a source has changed, email info@rentalrisks.com with the guide URL, the statement at issue and a supporting source when available. Do not include personal claim information in a correction request.
